Cost of site license for 1 school: $129 for a complete kit for computation or for concepts/applications. This includes software for automatic data collection, scoring, and data analysis as well as Blackline masters of each weekly CBM test (30 per grade for grades 1-6 in computation; 30 per grade for grades 2-6 in concepts/applications). |
Access to computer is required. Available only for Apple Macintosh computers. Testers will require 1-4 hours of training. Paraprofessionals can administer the test. Students take weekly CBM tests on the computer. Scoring, generating individual and class reports with graphs, data analysis, and instruction recommendations for teachers are automatically done by the computer. |
Pro-Ed Field tested training manuals are available and should provide all needed implementation information Ongoing technical support is available at Pro-Ed. |
MBSP math is computer administered progress monitoring tools based on Curriculum-Based Measurement (CBM) that can be used for group or individual students in grade 1 and above. Students take weekly CBM tests on the computer. The primary score, which is graphed over time, is the total score on the test, which represents the student’s overall level of competence in the curriculum at the relevant grade. Secondary scores report mastery status for the individual skills embedded in each test. To derive mastery scores, information is aggregated across 2 weekly tests, and each skill employs its own criterion for mastery, which relies on number attempted in combination with percentage correct. The tool provides information on student performance in English. The test was normed using a nationally representative sample of 12,000 students, of which 5 percent had a learning disability. |
Administration of the test takes 1 to 10 minutes depending on grade level and computation vs. concepts/application. 30 alternate forms per grade level are available. Raw scores are number correct. Composite scores are total raw scores within a construct. Subscale/subtest scores and error analysis are also available. |
